NVivo 11 for Windows and NVivo for Mac are available as separate software applications. The projects created in the different applications have a different file format. NVivo for Mac is a brand new software and is missing some features due to the immaturity of the product for this operating system.

If you would rather not use the software for Mac OS X, you can use NVivo in a virtual installation of Windows using products such as Bootcamp, Parallels Desktop, or VMware Fusion.
